Year 6 Attainment - 2017/2018

We have had a consistently high level of attainment for many years and this has been exceptional for at least three years. This has been achieved through collective determination for excellence from all members of our school community.  We have an excellent record of ensuring that ever single child regardless of their individual needs goes on to achieve their full potential and collectively “they are the best they can be”.

This year the way attainment and progress is measured for Year 6 children changed.  However, we are still looking for as high a percentage as possible of children to reach the expected standard at the end of the school year.  In addition progress is calculated by comparing how the Year 6 children attained when they were in Year 2 to their outcomes at the end of Year 6.  If they go on to score what they would be expected to do based on these comparatives they would score a mark of 0 for progress.  For each subject we then calculate the average score of all the pupils.  We are told that the vast majority of schools should have an average score within the range of -5 to +5 for reading and maths and -7 to +5 for writing.  Below we summarise the key headline results for attainment and progress.
